A heavy bronze plaque bearing the names of 122 old boys of Mundella School who lost their lives in the Great War was rededicated at St Mary's Church in the Lace Market, Nottingham on 11 November 2001.

It was 81 years to the day that the plaque was unveiled at Mundella School.

It went missing for 15 years after the school was demolished in 1985. Former pupils tracked it down the storeroom of Portland Primary School in Bilborough.

The dedication service took place at the beginning of St Mary's Remembrance Day service, attended by the South Notts Hussars Association and serving members of the South Notts Hussars Yeomanry.

A wreath was laid by Avril Shaw, niece of two brothers whose names are on the plaque.

Music was provided by the band of the South Notts Hussars.
